Roles:
Federal Agency for Special Unification-related Roles (BvS) is one of the successor organisations of the Treuhandanstalt (privatisation agency) which was wound up in 1994 and which was responsible for the remaining liquidations and reprivatisations. Most of these roles have been fulfilled in the meantime. The BvS has thus ceased its operational and administrative activities. The Federal Agency continues to exist as a legal entity within the Federal Ministry of Finance, although it has no staff. Its remaining duties will be fulfilled by external agents until it is definitively liquidated. The Treuhandliegenschaftsgesellschaft (trustee property company) (TLG) and Bodenverwertungs- und -verwaltungsgesellschaft (land sale and management company) (BVVG) are subsidiaries of BvS.
