Roles:
The Federal Institute for Real Estate has been "in business" since 1 January 2005. This authority is breaking new ground in public-sector real estate management, as it is now a value-oriented and commercially managed business which assumes responsibility for its own actions. We shall develop in the coming years from asset manager for the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) to become the government real estate service provider. At the heart of the strategy lies the establishment of a value- and cost-optimised "standard property management department" (ELM) of the government.
