The Customs Criminal Investigation Office (ZKA) has been in existence since July 1992 as a federal authority within the Federal Ministry of Finance. It is the central agency of the Customs Investigation Office (= Customs Criminal Investigation Office and the customs investigation bureaux) and is one of the central agencies for administrative customs information and telecommunications.
